چکیده
Abstract The effectiveness of microspore embryogenesis (ME) is determined by a complex network internal and environmental factors. In the present study on triticale barley, strong positive correlation (r = 0.85) between generation hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O ) ME confirmed important role reactive oxygen species in reprogramming. However, for high induction, intensive H had to be associated with activity antioxidative enzymes, superoxide dismutase catalase. seasonal effect physiological status microspores revealed suggests kind ‘biological clock’ controlling plant reproduction, crucial viability embryogenic potential. Although various modifications ME-inducing stress tiller pre-treatment was mainly condition microspores, at higher intensity effects induced antioxidant molecules—reduced glutathione its precursor, l -2-oxothiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid—were observed. High level variation response also two DH lines cultivars barley among isolated from subsequently developed spikes.

The important roles of reactive oxygen species in diseases related to aging and the necessity and benefits of antioxidative nutraceuticals in the prevention of diseases and promotion of healthy aging have been extensively reported in recent years. Oxygen is an essential component of living organisms. The generation of reactive oxygen species such as superoxide anion, hydrogen peroxide, hydroxyl...
متن کاملExpression profiles in barley microspore embryogenesis
In barley, microarray technology has allowed to study the gene expression profiling associated with the stress pretreatment phase of microspore embryogenesis, where the reprogramming of microspores takes place. Transcriptome analysis of anthers before and after four days of mannitol pretreatment, revealed changes in the expression of 2,673 genes. A thorough study of these differentially express...
متن کاملReactive oxygen species generation and use of antioxidants during in vitro maturation of oocytes: a Review
In vitro maturation (IVM) is emerging as a popular technology at the forefront of fertility treatment and preservation. However, standard in vitro culture conditions usually increase reactive oxygen species (ROS), which have been implicated as one of the major causes for reduced embryonic developmental competence. It is well-known that higher than physiological levels of ROS triggers granulosa ...
متن کاملO 22: Reactive Oxygen Species and Epilepsy
Seizure activity has been proposed to result in the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which then contribute to seizure-induced neuronal damage and eventually cell death. Although the mechanisms of seizure-induced ROS generation are unclear, mitochondria and cellular calcium overload have been proposed to have a crucial role. We aim to determine the sources of seizure-induced ROS and ...

Although, hydrogen peroxide and singlet oxygen are classified as ROS, they are not radicals and do not necessarily interact with tissue through radical reactions directly (6). Hence, they are not toxic per se but in presence of free radicals or cataly...
